As a seasoned attorney licensed to practice in Romania and in the State of New York, and as a licensed customs broker, I bring over 18 years of expertise in navigating the complexities of international trade regulations for multinational corporations like Caterpillar, Grainger, and True Value. My focus is on ensuring compliance with US import/export laws and regulations and managing Trade Security and Trade Compliance programs (CTPAT and CSR). My approach combines legal proficiency with practical strategies, to uphold the highest standards of trade compliance, identify gaps and implement necessary corrective actions. My academic background includes a JD from the University of Babes Bolyai, Cluj-Napoca, Romania, and an LL.M in International Business and Trade Law from the University of Illinois at Chicago, further solidifying my expertise in the field. It is an honor and a privilege to be part of RUF, and I look forward to making a substantial contribution to this great organization.Â

The Romanian Community Summit held last Saturday, September 20, 2025, brought together 363 participants in person and over 1,000 Romanians online, making it one of the largest diaspora leadership gatherings in North America. The energy in the room was extraordinary, as leaders and community members from across the U.S., Canada and Romania came together to celebrate our shared identity and to build bridges for the future.
The Summit was filled with moments of inspiration. Minister Oana Țoiu spoke about civic engagement and the responsibility each generation has to shape Romania’s democratic future. Ambassador Andrei Muraru reminded us that the diaspora is one of Romania’s greatest strengths, a living bridge that connects our communities abroad to the homeland. Consul General Lucian Stănică reflected on the impact we can have when we work together, while Mr. Dorian Branea praised the warm organization of the event and the authentic Romanian hospitality, symbolized by the traditional food that brought us all closer.
Perhaps the most touching moment came from Părintele Constantin Necula, whose words of wisdom invited every participant to pause, reflect, and re-examine how to live with faith and purpose. His message resonated deeply, reminding us that community is not only about building connections, but also about nurturing the values that give our lives meaning.
The Summit was not just an event, but a milestone! A real proof of the strength, vitality, and unity of the Romanian diaspora. With renewed energy and inspiration, we now look forward to RoSummit 2026, ready to aim higher and dream bigger! -
