H.E. Andrei Muraru is Romania’s Ambassador to the United States since 2021. A historian by training, he holds a PhD from “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University. H.E. Andrei Muraru has held senior roles with the Institute for the Investigation of Communist Crimes (IICCMER), served as Presidential Adviser (2014–2021), and taught at SNSPA. He has held research fellowships in Greece, the U.S., and Israel, and has published extensively on recent Romanian history, including the Holocaust and communism. He authored and co-authored multiple volumes. Decorated by King Michael I, the Romanian state, and the President of Italy, H.E. Muraru is also a scientific researcher at the Elie Wiesel Institute and a frequent speaker at international conferences.
